In-app research chat with tool access to commodities, feeds, reports, navigation, and your stories. Signed-in only.
Access by plan
- Free — starter models from the Available Chat Models list for the free tier, lifetime message trial, shorter max message length.
- Arc Research Starter — premium models, longer messages, and a monthly soft usage cap for cost monitoring (does not hard-block).
Exact trial size and length caps live in
config/chat_billing.yml
(defaults: 10 free messages, 1000 / 5000 chars).
What you can do
- Ask markets — commodities, COT, storage, and site pages via tools.
- Attach context — stories, tickers, positions, and documents stay linked to the thread.
- Hand off to a persona — list published research agents (Tinfoil Cat, Chess Master, and others) and call one when you want a second lens. The generic chat keeps researching while that run queues.
- Continue on desk — Archie Desk is a separate paper-trading product; chat remains the research conversation surface.
