"summary": "The Australian dollar (AUD/USD) is currently rebounding off a significant support zone, maintaining its long-term uptrend despite recent consolidation. Key technical levels are being watched, with resistance at 7008 and 7032 indicating a potential for a more durable low and trend reversal if broken. However, a break below 6946 or 6908 would invalidate the bullish near-term outlook and suggest a larger decline. Upcoming US inflation data (CPI, PPI) and Australian employment figures are expected to influence monetary policy expectations and market direction.",

"transcript": "Hey traders, today is Wednesday, October 14th, and I'm Michael Boutros, Senior Market Analyst with StoneX here for a quick multi-time frame look at the Australian dollar. So we're rebounding off of a major support zone. This is what the weekly chart looks like. We've been still trading within the confines of that 2025 uptrend. We did not mark a weekly close below it, and so it keeps that uptrend still intact for now. The focus is on this rebound that we made here. You know, we dropped nearly 4.6% off of the highs from August. That decline is now poised, that four-week decline is now poised to mark a second weekly advance, with price reacting to key support at the objective June low week reversal close. It gives you 6938. That level now converges on the objective 52-week moving average. Now, broadly speaking, we're still in a massive consolidation pattern off the highs for the year. You can see a series of lower highs, a series of higher lows, and the focus is on this recovery off of confluence support. So, do we get a heart a bigger, larger, more significant recovery from this zone as the dollar takes a little bit of a break here? We have some major event risk on tap later today with CPI data and then tomorrow with PPI. The focus is on this recovery. Here's what it looks like on the daily chart. So, last week on Friday, we closed and broke above the September downtrend, okay? And then into the start of this week, we defended former slope resistance as support. The October open, the objective monthly open comes in at 6946. So just above that 6938 level we're looking at on the weekly chart. And the advance is now testing initial resistance at the 618 retracement of the broader June advance. That comes in right at 7008. We're trading right below that at the moment. The focus is on whether this recovery can sustain a larger push higher and suggest that a more durable low is in place. Here's what it looks like as we drill down to the four-hour chart. Before I do, really quick, momentum also now attempting to get back towards that 50 level and cross into positive territory. If we're able to mark a daily close above that 50 mark and price is able to close above that 7008 mark, it certainly would give further fuel for the bulls to be able to push a little bit higher here. Here's what it looks like on the four-hour chart. Beautiful pitchfork we've been tracking all throughout September. Again, broke on Friday. Into the start of this week, we tested former slope resistance as support. And here's the recovery. Again, there's the October open now converges on former slope resistance turn support at 6946, and here we are testing initial resistance. If Aussie is heading higher on this specific stretch, losses would need to be limited to that October open, and you'd need a close above 7032 to suggest that a more significant low is in place and a larger trend reversal is underway. That 7032 level is a 382 retracement from the decline off the September highs. You have the 200-day moving average just a bit higher near 7039, but that's the breakout level that would give us a little bit more of a firm conviction that a durable low is in place. Top-side objectives in that scenario open up 7072, that's the 1618 extension of the advance off the low, and the objective May low, which was a very nice pivot in price, extends that into 7079. Um, subsequent resistance at 7110, that's the 618 of the drop. Now, if we break below that 6946 level, it would invalidate the near-term uptrend, but for the bears to reassert control, we do need to plow through that 886 retracement that caught the lows last month. That comes in right at 6908. A break below that level would validate the break of that uptrend that we've been tracking just off of or that lower consolidation trend that extends off the March and June lows, and certainly that would open up the potential for a much larger decline in Aussie dollar. CPI data is out in just under an hour. We are expecting the headline read to come in at 3.6% up from 3.4%. Core is expected to come up a little bit, some base effects at play here from 2.4% to 2.5%, even though the month-on-month is expected to tail off just a bit. Right after that, into the overnight session, we do get Australian employment data. We're expecting widely expecting unemployment to hold 4.6% with a gain of about 20,000 jobs. Heading into tomorrow, another inflation update with PPI figures. Core there expected to tail off from 4.6% to 4.4%. Traders will be combing through this data again for further information, further guidance onto where monetary policy moves into the end of the year. Fed fund futures are still pricing 80% chance that we'll see the Fed hold this month with 88% chance likelihood that we'll see at least 25 basis points still in further hikes before the end of the year. We'll try to keep you updated as always on MB4X. Till then, best of luck trading. We'll see you tomorrow. Cheers.",
