"summary": "The natural gas market is showing bullish signs, with the November contract trading higher and technical indicators pointing up. Storage expectations for tomorrow are slightly below the five-year average, but above last year's. Cooler weather is forecast for parts of the US and Eastern Europe, which could increase demand. Globally, European storage is still not full, and UK storage is particularly low, while Asian temperatures are mixed. Several US LNG facilities are ramping up or coming back online, which could support prices.",

"transcript": "Good morning, natural gas. It's Wednesday, October the 7th, 2026. I'm Tim Beggins, President of Elk Trading Company. And for the spot November contract, we're up. We're currently trading at 3.1570, up 4.3 cents or 1.38%. And as you can see, the RSI still pointing up. It's kind of flattish, but it's still pointing up. And the 13 and 48-period exponential moving averages are going to cross to the positive side if we get a positive close today. So let's take a look at the hourly chart. And we are well above the daily pivot, which came in today at 3.10 and one tick here. And as you can see, we tested it all the way up to third resistance level at 3.21 and a half. We got as high as 3.2190. The RSI though is crossing to the downside. So we got a little bit overbought here. We're going to pull back a little bit. Storage tomorrow, expectations plus 73 to plus 77. Last year plus 77, but the five-year average plus 96. So we're going to make up room on both sides. It's going to look bullish both ways if it comes in below 77 BCF. And let's take a look at something in the back of the curve. Let's take a look at the January contract. Currently, right now, we're up 4.7 cents here. And as you can see, we held the down channel here the other day, just about four days ago, and we've started to push higher. The RSI is also pushing higher as well. So let's see if we can push up to the upside of this channel, which would come in today around 3.9620. So let's take a look at that as a near-term target. Is this just oscillating to make another low? We'll find out soon, but there's some things that may be changing here. Let's take a look at the grid. And here is ERCOT. It is expected to be 72,950 megawatts for today on system-wide demand. And renewables just over 36,000. But as you notice here, there is wind down here around 2,400 megawatts. That's it. And so natural gas right now is pulling 42.1% of the fuel mix here, over 22,307. Yesterday was a record day for New England. It had 2,300 megawatts of wind production. And yet in ERCOT, we're going to have 2,400 on a low. Yeah, we'll send that participation trophy in the mail. Let's take a look at the rest of the grid. And yesterday, we did get a big spike right behind me in MISO. We hit the cap at $10,000 per megawatt at the five-hour mark. That's because solar had dropped off. The the uh, the demand actually kicked in around the dinner hour. And therefore, we got that one spike up to $10,000 per megawatt hour. That's impressive. And so we are going to continue to see some volatility in MISO this morning. $588 there. You can see ISO New England up to 160 almost. And there is Ontario pushing up there toward about uh, let's see, there's about $100 there, 91.70. So, a little bit of volatility. Same thing for ERCOT. It is expected to get up to 170. And the reason for that, low wind. And therefore, it's going to lean on natural gas. Let's take a look at the forecast map here. And as you can see, we're going to get cooler weather coming into the Pacific Northwest, down from Canada, down toward Colorado. And New England is also going to get some cooler weather. There it is. Let's take a look back there. Look at that cooler weather coming into Montana, the North Dakota, up into Minnesota, into Idaho. So, watch out, it's pushing all this warmth here along the Gulf Coast. It is pushing it further south and possibly out into the Gulf. And as you can see, you're starting to see some 30s and 40s up here in New England, all the way back into Pennsylvania. That's right. It's a little early right now, but it is coming up here on October the 20th. And you can see right there at the end there, it is starting to look a little bit chilly here across the Pacific, on the Rockies, a little bit chilly up here in New England. Still staying fairly warm here from Chicago, uh, Texas, all the way back over into Florida. And there is the 6 to 10-day temperature outlook. There's that below normal temperature site, uh, centered on Idaho right there. Near normal up in New England. That's the same theme as we could see for the 8 to 14-day. Really, New England is the only area getting below normal temperatures. Above normal is still sitting in the Southeast here and parts of the Desert Southwest. Let's take a look at Europe. It is 72.8% full here. We've got just about three weeks left to go before November the 1st here. And yes, it is tracking on about 76, 77% full, depending on injections here, maybe getting a late push here. But let's take a look across the EU. You can see Belgium 64%, Austria 69%. As you can see, Germany still 59% full. They'll be lucky to get to 65%. Latvia at 49%. That's a real problem there. And as you can see, Ukraine is showing up at uh, right now, 37%. But that is with a war going on. Most of its storage is to the east under Russian occupation, unfortunately. The United Kingdom is closer to 35, 36% full. We'll see that in a second. Let's take a look at the temperature here for uh, the EU. And as you can see, going forward, we got some warmer temperatures right now. A little bit cooler in the UK. There's some that cool weather coming into France here on Friday. That's good news there. It it waffles back and forth here with some warm and cooler temperatures here. But at the end here, you could start to see below normal temperatures in Eastern Europe, Greece, Turkey coming in here. Late in the forecast period. And that is going to continue all the way through. Let's whoa, let's just stop that for a second. All the way through to the end here. You can see cooler temperatures in Turkey, back to Greece, and all parts of the Eastern European, the former block. Let's take a look at the UK. I'll switch over here for a second. And as you can see right now, they are pulling again from Norway, the bulk of it. Some LNG. There is nothing going out to the Netherlands. There is a little bit going out to Belgium. And of course, Ireland. But the rest of it is going into storage injections. They need more, but at least this is staying in the positive territory. Let's take a look at total gas storage and LNG storage, now up to 15.07%. Gas storage 21.93%. So, add them up together, you're about 36% full. But again, Rough storage, which represents about 54% of total UK storage, still has no molecules in it. That's not good. And let's just switch right back over here. And let's take a look at the TTF contract here. This is for January as well. And yesterday, pulling up here, up over 3.38% here. And again, that's around $25, right? So, you're looking at the United States below $4 for January. Overseas in the Netherlands, $25. So, yeah, look at the RSI about to pull to the upside here, which means we're going to test that high here. We see up at $27 and about 90 cents. So, watch out. It looks like things are starting to tighten up again. Let's take a look at Asia here. And it is cool right now, but some warmer temperatures in Beijing. That pushes into the Eastern provinces here. And of course, that pushes over into the Koreas and Japan. There is some cooler weather coming on the backside of this into uh, February, October 16th, sorry. Before we get some really cold temperatures coming back in, possibly at the uh, 21st and 22nd in Beijing. So, we'll keep an eye on that as well. Right now, though, as you can see, uh, let's pull it in a little bit. Let's get the temperatures, well, let's take a look at the temperatures first. 62 degrees in Tokyo, 66 in Beijing, and over here in New Delhi, 86 degrees. So, a little bit of warmth still over in India. But the Eastern, uh, parts of Asia are cooling off right now. And we've still got a lot of activity out there. Some tropical activity. Very little though going into Southeast India. We need it there for crops. But take a look at the bigger picture here. This is still very active storm systems. This one pushed out past Japan the other day. But we've got one, two, and three taking a look at. This big wave here, there is the um, one of the hurricanes here pushing off to the uh, west side of Mexico. Here is the storm system we'll be talking about in just a second in the Gulf of America/Mexico. And yet there's another system right here that's possibly going to form as well. So, active all over the place. Let's take a look at US LNG. And there is a vessel loading at Golden Pass. That's good news there. Two vessels loading up at Cheniere. How about Cameron, uh, LNG? It is 1.5. That's right, out of 1.56. That's fantastic news. It's wrapping up. And here's Freeport. Unfortunately, though, for the last five days, it is struggled. It is pushing up through two of the cycles and then falling back off. So, clearly, some maintenance is going on here with at least one train. Let's take a look at Creole Trail. This is one of the pipelines that feeds Sabine Pass. And as you can see, 1.49 out of 1.7. So, still has some capacity open there. Uh, Corpus Christi running 2.58 out of 2.75. We'll still see if that starts to ramp up as well. Here is Venture Global Calcasieu Pass, running just under 1.7. That's good news there. And here is Venture Global's Plaquemines, running right now, just 3.953. So, a little bit lighter than it's been running. And so is Golden Pass. Last night only 280,000. Right now 411,000 MMBtu. So, Train 1 still teething problems on the commissioning. It is still struggling. Let's see what happens in the next few days. And hopefully, we'll get this thing ramping up here with cooler weather. And look what else is ramping up. Cove Point LNG is coming back online. That's right. Today, it may start coming back online. That is up in Maryland. It's the only real East Coast LNG facility we have here. There's a smaller one in Florida. But take a look here. It is coming back online. That's good news for Appalachia because prices are down near a dollar per MMBtu. So, we've lost some production in Appalachia on prices. Let's take a look at the Gulf. And there it is. There's the storm system. This is tropical storm. And I'm not going to try and pronounce this, but it's the Spanish version of Isaías. And that's all I'm going to say because if I try and pronounce it, I'm going to bludgeon it. It's terrible. But that's this is tracking over here toward the Eastern side of the Gulf. As you can see, it is got 40-mile an hour winds here. It is pushing east-northeast at 8 miles an hour. So, where's it going to go? Well, it's tracking right now for Mobile Bay, Alabama. Right now, as you can see, it is expected to be a hurricane tonight about 1:00 AM. And then push into Mobile Bay on Saturday again at night at um, 1:00 AM. So, watch out. It's going to be some issues there. Again, there is very little production in the Gulf here. It is about 1.7 BCF in total, mainly off of Louisiana and Texas. That's going to be okay. But there's a little bit of production in Mobile Bay. But let's see what happens here. These typically are demand killers, not demand, uh, you know, uh, production killers. Excuse me. I got tripped on that one. Let's take a look at the bigger picture. There it is. There is the storm system pushing back up toward uh, Alabama at this stage. We'll see that again over the next few days. There is that storm system that pushed through the Windward Islands the other day. It is south of Puerto Rico. Nothing really else to watch for at this stage in the Atlantic. So, maybe this is our one and only hurricane of the season. Let's hope. And here's the tropical hazards. Again, West Coast of Mexico is really the only thing that they are centering on right now. And the water temperatures out there where that storm system is, 86 degrees. And all the way up in Alabama, still 84 to 82 degrees. So, still plenty of energy here for this storm system to expand. And here is the Saharan Air Layer. And as you can see, there is some dust coming off the coast, but it's not too much. And probably there's nothing to worry about at this stage. Let's take a look at the US nuclear fleet. We've got 15 gigawatts are offline right now. That's less than last year's 18.5 gigawatts. But it is still well within the five-year range. And here again is El Niño. And this is the warmer temperatures under the water here. And as you can see, it stretches all the way back to the International Date Line. This is Hawaii here. We're watching these pools of cooler water as they get closer and closer to the United States. You can see this one is expanding just south of Baja. And let's take a look at the teleconnections here. The AO continues to increase. But look what else is going on. The NAO is starting to decrease. So is the PNA. That's also starting to decrease. Going to get interesting this winter, folks. Buckle up. Let's take a look at the stocks in the oil and gas E&P sector. Stocks between $2 and $10 billion have a high short float. And it's a mixed bag. Right now, CNX and BKV are up. So is CRK and NOG. But the rest of them are down right now. Behind me, Matador, only up 0.06%. So recapping here for the spot November contract. We're currently up 5.3 cents to 3.1670. We're up 1.7%.
