"transcript": "Gold, silver, and other precious metals faced a volatile week ending today, September 11th, 2026. Even as strong underlying investment demand persists, gold and other precious metals had a third consecutive weekly decline despite today's Friday tiny price rebound. Prices were sent lower through the week by hotter inflation data, rising Fed rate hike odds, surging crude oil prices again now over $100 a barrel, record high $6 diesel prices, more on that later, and higher long-term Treasury yields, more on that soon. Geopolitical developments in the Middle East and oil prices remain precious metal pricing wild cards. Gold support is being watched near $4300 an ounce with nearby upside resistance around $4400-$4500 an ounce. Silver's trying to hold the lower $60s an ounce consolidation zone. Next week's FOMC decision and updated economic projections, the dot plot, they're all important in terms of near-term trends and narratives. A hike is widely expected by market onlookers along with any accompanying guidance potentially associated. Record gold ETF inflows were reported as the World Gold Council said global physically backed gold ETFs saw $18 billion in net inflows in August 2026. That's the second largest monthly inflow on record. That's over 120 tons of some or some 3.8 million ounces inflowing into global and secured gold ETFs collectively for the month of August 2026. China's Central Bank bought over 20 tons of gold last month, August 2026. That's the 22nd month in a row. One of the more important price components worldwide for overall price pressures now hitting record nominal price size with diesel priced at over $6 a gallon in the USA now. Diesel comprises of over 80% of long-haul commercial trucking worldwide, relying on diesel engines due to their torque density and fuel efficiency. Around 75% of global farm equipment is diesel powered, so expect higher food costs with rising commodity prices ongoing. And construction and mining use diesel with heavy equipment, excavators, bulldozers, haul trucks, and mobile crushers. Over 85% of construction and mining is diesel reliant. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is reportedly hitting a large bank next week with Iran-related sanctions. But this week he took to the airwaves talking tough on the Fiat Japanese Yen intervention, basically threatening anyone on the other side of the trade. Whenever people say, \"Oh, well, Treasury Secretary's taking a risk.\" Well, you know, it's my dream. I have asymmetric information. I am the house now. So, right? So, when we intervene with the Japanese Yen, I have pretty good insight into what the Japanese, what the Bank of Japan's going to do, what Japanese policymakers are going to do. Um, and, um, but if you can bet against me if you want. After doubling the pace at which US Treasury is buying back our own debt, long-term interest rates still rose steadily throughout this week. Look, if some of the Bloomberg terminal bros are unhappy with what I'm doing, well, that's too bad. And, you know, I will tell you that we have, we have the best performing bond market in the world. And if you look, bond yields have never been more correlated to the energy price. And that's, that's my point here. That, uh, is we have a supply shock. And we will get to the other side of this. And, you know, we, we've had two very strong Treasury auctions. And the, the USA is in very good shape. The Treasury market is in very good shape. The fact that we are the best performing. And, Steve, what we've also seen is that term premium, which is the difference between either the five-year point and the 30-year point or the two-year point and the 10-year point, uh, the term premium for the, uh, fives and tens, they, excuse me, from fives and 30s is at its lowest, the, uh, it's lowest differential, uh, in many years. And we are right back to the lows on twos and tens. So that is telling you that investors are not demanding a premium for longer-term US debt. So, I'm not sure where the beef is. And, you know, this whole nonsense today that our operation didn't work. Well, our operation didn't work because we only had 10 billion of offers for our buyback program. Normally, we get 20 billion. And we, we only buy the bonds back cheap. So, when it said, I didn't buy back as many as I said that I was going to buy, it's because we buy them cheap. And, you know, again, that people seem to want to keep their long-term bonds because they, we only had half as many offers. So, you know, it, it's a bunch of noise. And, and my career, I've made money ignoring the noise. And at the same political rally, President Trump made headlines with promises of $5,000 payments for every adult in the USA. There's about 270 million of them, so say, uh, $1.3 trillion stimulus if the Republicans win the Congress and Senate in the upcoming November 2026 election. Because we've done so well, and because our country is making so much money, that only I can make this promise to you. And here is my promise. If the Republicans win the House of Representatives and the United States Senate, both of them. Because of our economic, tremendous economic success, like, in, in history, we've never had anything like what's happening. But because of our tremendous strength and success economically, I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States of America for $5,000. Very much like a successful company will do a cash distribution to its shareholders. Or like last year when I gave our great members of the military $1,776. Remember? We also remember about 8,000 to 8,500 and some total promised piles never delivered upon, so there, those three too. Either way, the dark humor meme makers were out and about this week. Some good ones here. And I am still buying the bullion price dip. We're going to be right back after this short break. Hello, this is James Anderson on behalf of SD Bullion. Smash the like button if you enjoy these bullion market updates. And be sure to visit SDBullion.com/sweepstakes to enter our free Silver Monster Box giveaway. Due to buying gold or silver, SD Bullion makes it simple with no order minimums, clear pricing, and discrete shipping. Trusted by hundreds of thousands, SDBullion.com, where America buys physical gold and silver. The silver and gold markets traded lower overall on the week. Spot silver price closed the week at $64.50 an ounce bid. Spot gold price finished the week down at $4348 an ounce bid. The spot gold-silver ratio ended the week basically flat at 67. On a full fiat currency era monthly chart for the gold-silver ratio seen here, my contention remains that the ratio spent the last more than decade well above the full fiat era median, which was around 60 ounces of silver to 1 ounce of gold. And in a commodity supercycle unfolding before our very eyes on various commodity price charts galore, it's reasonable to expect a prolonged duration where this key ratio goes well below 60. The January 2026 gold-silver ratio collapse went to the mid-40s. And my suggestion is that was a prequel. On this sad 25th anniversary of 9/11, CME Group took to Bloomberg to pump their new highly leveraged 100-ounce paper silver contract product, starting with some solid fundamental case facts for silver in the years and even decade to come. Is silver about to steal the spotlight again? Silver sets itself apart from other precious metals because of its diverse applications. It's not only a hedge against macroeconomic tensions, but it's a key component of virtually every piece of technology, including solar panels, smartphones, TVs, semiconductors, AI data centers, and more. This growing industrial demand for silver, however, has also led to a global supply shortage. Silver prices rose sharply in August as technical trends turned more favorable. It's now approaching a strong area of technical resistance, which will be important in determining whether it can continue its move higher. Inflation and interest rates are two major factors which may determine silver's next move. When the value of the US dollar goes down, investors often put their cash into physical assets like silver or gold to hedge against inflation. And starting next week on September 11, CME will expand 24/7 trading to its 100 oz. silver futures contract. 100 oz. silver futures are financially settled based on the daily settlement price of the global benchmark COMEX 5,000-ounce silver futures contract. They are listed by and subject to the rules of COMEX. In some good industry-related news this week, apparently, crews of career call center criminals are finally getting taken to prison and routed out. accused of swindling seniors in Tarrant County out of their life savings has been arrested as authorities say he was trying to flee the country. The investigation involves multiple suspects, millions of dollars in gold, and what investigators describe as a multiple-layer scheme. Muzamil Ahmed, an alleged key player in an international criminal operation, is now in the Tarrant County Jail. His capture underscores the investigation that first came to light in April, when more than a dozen others were arrested for various roles in the enterprise that targeted senior citizens. We now have more than 40 indictments connected to this scheme. Our message is simple. If you prey on seniors in Tarrant County, we're coming for you. Tarrant County DA Phil Sorrells says nationwide there are more than 200 elderly victims and losses of more than $200 million. A criminal complaint lists more than 40 victims in the city of North Richland Hills. Most all scammed out of cash, gold, and cryptocurrency. These criminals contact seniors and falsely tell them that their bank account, social security number, or personal information has been compromised. They create fear and urgency, then tell victims to withdraw their savings, buy gold bars or Bitcoin, or keep cash ready for someone to come pick it up, who may even pose as a federal agent. Ahmed was captured at JFK International in New York while awaiting a one-way flight to Saudi Arabia. Investigators say New Jersey was his operating base. Investigators believe that Muzamil Ahmad is a central figure in this operation. He used shell corporations to launder stolen money, funnel proceeds to a gold refinery, converted gold and cash into cryptocurrency, and moved the money out of the country. The DA says at least one victim scammed out of their entire life savings became destitute and committed suicide. He says as more victims come forward, the wider the net investigators managed to cast. They have people that are, that are couriers, they have people that are at call centers that are making the phone calls. We have jewelry places that are smelting down this gold and turning it into bangles so then they can put it in, and, and take it overseas. It is a, a broad organization. And as the investigation continues, there's an urgent plea for families to preach safety to their older loved ones. In a quickly changing world gold trade, it's no surprise to see Russian gold exports and headlines like this flowing in record size through Hong Kong of late. In a world still mainly relying on the Fiat US dollar payment network with sanctions increasing seemingly everywhere you look, it's not a surprise either to see China's ambitions to use global gold vaulting networks beyond merely Hong Kong to help bolster pristine collateral options in direct bilateral trading without Fiat US dollars or Fiat Euros between the trading counterparty they're dealing with. The bullion over bonds trade is still in early innings. The market interventions are not going to stop the world from acquiring older, more proven stores of value to bolster their bedrock unsanctionable hard asset savings.
