"transcript": "This week, the Fiat Fed held its rates flat, while the ballooning US debt is about to bust 40 trillion. The 10-year US debt market keeps climbing. In other words, more sellers than buyers. And we got sellers like India of late, retrieving hard Fiat US dollars to help defend its devaluing Fiat rupee at home and abroad. But taking the cake for market intervention this week was Japan, conservatively blowing an estimated 53 to 90 billion on Thursday to save its Fiat Japanese Yen from melting down in market value. To put a one-day currency intervention of 90 billion in context, that's nearly the value of Japan's entire official gold reserves, spent in one day. That happening on Thursday is just a reminder of how important keeping the illusion of Fiat currency values higher than otherwise might be. US Treasury Secretary Scott Vincent had to take to the airwaves, publicly cheerleading the Yen, acting as almost as if he runs their treasury as well. I'm going to ask you about Japan. Um, it seems the Japanese intervened in their markets, in their currency markets, earlier today. What do you, do you have a response to that? Uh, well, again, uh, we, we think that excess volatility in the Yen isn't healthy, and, you know, I, I was in the currency business for 40 years, and Japanese Yen seems very undervalued to me. The currency is very cheap, the economy's doing well, the Prime Minister is very popular and enacting very strong policies, and I think we are going to see the fundamentals come through, the, uh, and, you know, at a point that the market will realize the Yen is undervalued and should strengthen. So you're not concerned about the strength of the Yen towards the against the dollar? Uh, no, again, uh, you know, that the, the market, the currency markets tend to overshoot, and I believe the Japanese Yen has substantially overshot what would be called an equilibrium price. On the left-hand side, what 90 billion bought in a one-day market intervention, moving from 164 Yen to a $1 to about 158 Yen, which is the strongest level since an early May intervention costing then about 45 billion less than three months ago. Given the Fiat US dollar index is 13.6% comprised of Fiat Japanese Yen, the DXY fell sharply on Thursday in concert with the 90 billion market intervention. Back in the spring of 2022 on this SD Bullion channel, I pointed out at the time the local price for silver in Japan was perhaps the cheapest on a historical relative basis in the world. The Fiat Yen silver price since that video six-folded in nominal price to peak earlier this year, has been since cut in half, um, but the nominal price levels still three times what it was then. Japan is still asleep at the wheel on silver as an investment. Local gold prices are currently three times their 1980 nominal price highs, yet silver again is nominally priced below its price high from over 45 years ago. Look at the unsecured Japanese gold versus silver ETF funds to date. There's about 170 times more capital sitting in their collective gold ETFs versus the only recently bid up silver ETFs, which hold a pathetic 8 million in notional silver value versus 1.35 billion in gold value. Japan is asleep on silver, while their financial powers that be spend nearly the equivalent of their entire gold reserve value in a record one-day intervention to rescue their currency, which was originally defined in physical silver weight. The Fiat Yen has lost nearly -99.99% in value since untying from silver and its original definition of weight. Fascinating since it's done slowly enough over time, how the coming final percentage losses of the Fiat Yen versus silver are still being slept on by Japanese investors by and large, still today. Moving to central bank gold demand, Singapore bought 7 tons recently as the World Gold Council reported this week, that government central banks have been buying this gold price correction in mass tonnage terms. A quick eyeball estimate based on this chart, somewhere around 300 tons, World Central Banks are thought to have bought this second quarter alone. That's perhaps only outpaced by Chinese demand the same time. That's also the largest second quarter central bank gold buying estimate ever. In another example of the world increasingly wanting less US debt and Fiat Forex promise piles, even in the face of historically near record high prices for gold around the world everywhere, the amount of physical gold buying in weight terms has never been higher. And in Fiat US dollar terms, the world is now buying about double what it used to, spending nearly 400 billion on physical gold in the first half of this year alone. The bid is not stopping because all Fiat currencies will keep devaluing versus bullion onwards. After we have some fun showing you this record gold bar by the Perth Mint, remember, it took Japan about 1400 of them to save their Fiat Yen yesterday. We'll be right back. From tiny granules to a gleaming giant. Tipping the scales at 521.2 kg, it's the largest gold bar on the planet. I'm referring to this as the people's bar. The Perth Mint smashing the previous Guinness World Record set in Dubai by more than 200 kg. Refined to an exceptional 99.999% purity. The technical capability to get the purity to over 5-9 gold is very, very difficult. 35 specialists bringing the bar to life using gold from nine different Australian producers, including BHP and Newmont. The metal melted at nearly 1400 degrees, poured into a mold, and a week later, emerging as a record-breaking bar, worth at least $95 million. There's always a premium on gold, those that are dealing it and trade in it. What's the premium over that? I don't know, but I'd like to think at least double. To give you a sense of the scale, this is a $1 coin, and this is the gold bar, measuring about 90 cm long and 20 cm high and wide. Hello, this is James Anderson on behalf of SD Bullion. The silver and gold markets were flat to a bit lower on the week. Spot silver price closed the week at $57.62 an ounce bid. Spot gold price finished the week at $4050 an ounce bid. The spot gold-silver ratio ended the week higher at 70 ounces of spot silver to a 1 ounce of spot gold. In terms of the modern gold-silver ratio, it makes sense that after the fastest collapse in that historic ratio on record, you would expect a bounce in reaction in the opposite direction. But it's not been all that big relative to the 200-day moving average deviation we saw at the start of the year, which was the largest in full Fiat currency history. This data simply corroborates the fact that silver supplies around the world are tight, and market deficits continue year after year. It's not going to take much in terms of fund flows and tonnage demand to set off another silver squeeze again. The 200-day moving average for gold is near $4500 an ounce still. And we can buy gold bullion for substantially less than that at the moment. Same story for silver, its 200-day moving average is around 70 bucks an ounce, and here we sit well below 60. Given the fact that we have a high spot GSR around 70 as well, relative to being in the mid-40s not long ago, well, I'm exclusively buying silver bullion at the moment, buying low premium tubes of sovereign silver coins like American Silver Eagle coins for instance. I've even been buying some small vintage US Mint silver bars from the early 1980s of late. Now, this might be controversial, but it's my bullion and I prefer it restored to full shine. For anyone out there like me, I suggest if you do, you enjoy your bullion being restored somewhat, get the tarnishing off it, you can buy yourself this type of product, e-Zest, we sell at SD Bullion. I'd also suggest you get some disposable plastic gloves. I'd also be interested to hear your thoughts and opinions on the matter in the comments below. Do you like the old secondary market silver bullion products tarnished, or do you like them bright like the day they were struck? Leave a left for tarnished, or a right for the bright and white in the comments below. I'm going to be checking in on your opinions. I want to hear what you have to say on the matter. If you're in the market for bullion and buying this weekend, be sure to check out SD Bullion's deals page where you can get 1 ounce silver maples for only a few bucks over spot.
