"transcript": "Good morning, natural gas. It's Thursday, October the 15th, 2026. I'm Tim Beggins, President of Elk Trading Company. And for the spot November natural gas contract, we're up. We're currently trading at 3.233, up 3.5 cents or 1.13%. And the RSI is trying to turn to the upside. Today is storage day. Expectations around +74 BCF. Last year +80, the five-year average +90 BCF. What's going on? Well, we've got some issues out on Mountaineer Express. That's the MXP 100 line again, and that's Saunders Creek Regulator Station. Let's take a look at the hourly chart, though. And as you can see, we're holding right around the daily pivot, which came in today at 3.23. The RSI still is in negative territory. So, the marketplace may sell off a little bit here. Let's see if it holds. First support here at 3.125 here. It probably will do so, and then let's see what weather brings us here. But let's take a look at what's going on on Columbia Gas Transmission, which is owned by TC Energy. And as you can see right now, we've got our problem. A detected leak near the Saunders Creek Regulator Station in West Virginia. This is unrelated to the September 24th force majeure, and it affects 1.9 BCF a day of gas. So, that's what's kicked us up to the upside again today. And where is that Saunders Creek? It's right here. That's that same regulator station, which is right near the Ohio border right here. This is that bend in the river between West Virginia and Ohio. So again, this regulator station is the cause of the problem here for MXP Line 100. Let's take a look at ERCOT. ERCOT today, demand 74,400. Wind is going to kick up this afternoon, and that means that we're going to have combined solar and wind generation of 33,506 here. But take a look at tomorrow because today is the last day for 90 degrees in Houston. Tomorrow, 74 for the high. We had one day back in October the 7th that was below 80 degrees. Prior to that, March the 8th. That's right, almost seven months. But take a look at ERCOT tomorrow. It is going to be less than 58,000 megawatts. And with that front coming in and high wind, we're looking at 55,500 megawatts worth of renewable capacity. So, that's nearly 100% of ERCOT. But for now, the natural gas market is picking up almost 50%, 49.1% over 28,000 megawatts in the grid right now. Why? Wind is a little light, and solar's just starting to kick in. Let's take a look at the national grid. And there's PJM with some volatility early this morning, getting up over $250 here. MISO behind me kicking in over $200 as well. There is volatility across the grid this morning here. NYISO upwards of $579. This is New England here, $113. Ontario also $113. SPP pushing up there at $87, excuse me, a little further than that, $120. So, CAISO is also up there around $88 per megawatt. So, volatility in the electrical grid. Why? We are in fall here. We are trying to take units down for maintenance ahead of winter, and we've got gyrating weather across the nation. So, let's take a look at what's going on in the 6-10 day temperature outlook. As you can see, below normal temperatures out in the Pacific Northwest here, California, Nevada here, and near normal in New England here, parts of New England. But above normal temperatures in the Upper Midwest. And this continues, as you can see in the 8-14 day temperature outlook, near normal out West and near normal up in parts of Maine, but warmer than usual here across the mid-section of the country. That chimney effect from Texas all the way back. And here's the Widowmaker spread, the March-April spread. And as you can see, we did touch the 50-day moving average the other day. Backed off a little bit. Here we go again. The RSI is pointing to the upside. It's not making new lows on this particular spread. The spread is currently trading at 10.5 cents here. So, watch out, the Widowmaker spread may come into some volatile action soon. Let's take a look at the US weather here, and it is going to be unusually changing here. Let's take a look. Cooler temperatures are pulling in from Calgary all the way down into New Mexico. As you can see, some cooler weather pushing in Appalachia there as well. And as you can see, some of these temperature variations are upwards of 40 degrees. That's right. 40 degrees. Here in Houston, though, only 16 between the high for today and the high for tomorrow. But take a look at this cooler weather across Canada here. This is near 30 degrees, a little bit of 40s here, and a little bit of 40s here. That's it. Rest of Canada is in the 20s and 30s. So, this is at the end of October. Here it comes. Let's take a look at European weather, and it's a mixed bag as well. Some cooler temperatures across Greece and Turkey right now, warmer temperatures in France and Spain. Cooler weather does come in a little bit here, but it is choppy here. Looks like it's still warmer across the Eastern half of Europe right now, as you can see into October the 25th. Cooler weather comes into Ireland, the UK. And then, as you can see, we get to the back end of this, it's still very, very warm here in Europe. Good news for them. They could use a little bit more time to put gas into storage. And let's switch over here. Pushing it over. Let's take a look at the UK. And as you can see right now, uh, supply is coming in from Norway and LNG. There is a little bit of gas going out to Belgium and Ireland as usual. A little bit of gas is going into storage injections. Overall, though, we're still sitting around 41.5% full for the UK. 26% from gas, 15.5% from LNG. Rough storage is still zero. Here is the uh, EU across the the entire place, across the entire place, the continent here. 74% full right now. Injections are starting to normal decline here. We are expected that it will get towards 78% if they're lucky with a few extra days of warmer temperatures here. But it is still below their 80% target. So, let's see what happens here because we still have some problems. Again, Latvia at 50%, Germany 60%. As you know, the uh, United Kingdom here at 41%. This is not correct at 36% here. But as you can see, there are some countries that are very, very well. Poland, Portugal, Italy are all doing well. France 87% full, also doing fairly well. Let's take a look at what else is going on. We'll switch back over here. And this is the JJM contract for January. And this is in Yen here. So, be careful. It is still pointing higher right now. It has come off just a little bit here. But as you can see, the RSI is not making new highs. And so, we've got this three-peak theory here. We make three peaks, and if the RSI is in disagreement, we may be due for a pullback. Let's take a look at Asia. And the Asian weather is, it's still a little mixed bag here. China is mostly warmer, then it gets cold. Here comes that cold air coming in from Mongolia, pushing East here, right around the 20th. That's getting uh, Beijing fairly cool, and pushes out that warmth in the Koreas and Japan. And before another big break of colder weather starts pushing in again around the 26th of October. India stays fairly modest here. You could start seeing some below normal temperatures here behind me in India there. And as you can see, it is fairly cool in Korea here on the 28th. That pushes the warmth out. And as you can see, Japan gets fairly cool. And let's take a look at the Middle East here. And there are some incidents here, some attacks on some boats. One off the coast of Yemen. Most of it, though, right around the Strait of Hormuz. As you can see, yesterday, a vessel near Oman was struck by a projectile here. It is mostly at this anchorage point here. This is the passage around Oman that is coming out of the Gulf here. So, as you can see, the Iranians are still attacking vessels. Let's take a look at Ras Laffan, and really nothing is loading here at Ras Laffan. No LNG tankers. This is an oil products tanker. The rest of these dots are support vessels or tugs. And let's take a look at the US. Cameron LNG running just under 1.5. That's good news there. Freeport also good news here, running around 1.8. But you could see Creole Trail is slightly lower here. 1.49 out of 1.7. This is uh, Corpus Christi, also running a little lighter, 2.58. That's a little bit lighter than yesterday. Here is Calcasieu Pass, running 1.617. That's better than yesterday. That's good news. But it is a little bit lower than we had last night. So, let's take a look at Plaquemines. It's also off here. 3.806. Had been running over 4 BCF. So, that's a bit of a disappointment there. And Golden Pass is holding up, though. 635,000 MMBtu's. Again, we want to see this ramp up closer to 800,000. Let's take a look at the weather out in Asia, and it is 68 degrees in Tokyo, 68 in Beijing, and New Delhi is 77. We've got three storms out in the Asian Pacific area. 28, Champi, and 92P. And look at 92P. It's a rather unusual storm. It's heading south. It's quite interesting. Over in the Atlantic, uh, well, we've got nothing there, but we do have on the West Coast of Mexico, we've got Simon and Trudy. And Simon is expected to go up into Baja here. It is still a fairly dangerous storm. It is going to coast, move along the coast there. And Trudy is going to come up in its wake, right toward Baja California as well. We'll keep a careful eye on this because it may affect weather in the Southwest of the United States. We'll see. How about the nuclear fleet? Well, we're running 18 gigawatts are offline today out of uh, really last year, the, excuse me, the five-year and last year was 21.7 gigawatts. So, a little bit lighter than last year, and again, it's sort of in the middle of the range. Let's take a look at the teleconnections. And the AO has suddenly surged. That's strange because we're now over two on the positive phase here. NAO is also moving in the positive phase. PNA is still holding positive. So, the AO is expected to come off as well as the NAO. All while the PNA stays relatively neutral, which may mean that we get some colder weather in the Northeast. But this sudden surge may be wrenching that outlook. Let's take a look at what else is going on. This is the globe here. And as you can see, very cold temperatures across Greenland. That's normal at this time. It is keeping cooler weather pushing into the Eastern provinces of Canada here. And of course, as you can see, cooler weather is coming down from Calgary all the way into New Mexico. Let's take a look at the ice. And this is the ice and snow cover up in the Arctic here. As you can see, doing fairly well in the Canadian side. Still a little light on the Russian side, but it is improving. How about our stocks in the oil and gas sector? Stocks between $2 and $10 billion. Have a high short float, over 10%. And as you can see, it is a sea of red. Behind me, Matador down 1.67%. So, recapping again for the spot November natural gas contract. We're currently trading at 3.2620, up 6.4 cents or 2%.
