"transcript": "I'm Tyne Morgan with today's AgDay Minute. Well, for some farmers in the Midwest, left with crops in the field, Mother Nature was not kind on Tuesday night. These pictures are from Hardin, Missouri. High winds took down a grain bin. Storage is already tight because we are in the height of harvest. But torrential rains also took a toll on corn still standing. The rain overnight halted some momentum, but dry weather last week previously allowed producers to bring the US corn harvest to 33% complete. While progress ticked up, the pace remained behind the five-year average of 39% for this time of year. China renewed US soybean purchases after a several-week pause. Chinese state buyers bought 8 to 10 cargoes this week for shipment starting in December. That's according to Reuters. The deal marks the first major purchase since the Trump-Xi Washington summit, with buyers paying premiums of up to $3.20 per bushel. The new Consumer Price Index numbers today show inflation accelerated to 3.7%, driven by surging energy costs. While grocery prices rose only 1.8%, farmers are getting crushed by an energy cost squeeze, with fuel oil jumping 74%. The USDA is investing over $86.6 million to boost specialty crops. Funding will back more than 600 local projects across 56 states and territories, supporting everything from research and food safety to pest control.
