Levi, who passed away in a side-by-side accident, had been his father's eyes in the barn due to his father's deteriorating vision. Lennox's victory, which included breaking Levi's county sale record, served as a profound tribute and a source of healing for the family, reinforcing their values of thankfulness, helpfulness, inclusion, and perseverance.",

"transcript": "When 12-year-old Lennox Tysinger walked out of her Ohio County Fair show ring this past August with the Grand Champion Market Hog banner, the moment was more than just a win. As Farm Journal leader Jennifer Schike tells us, it was a tribute to her brother Levi, who had stood in the exact same spot five years and one day earlier. The parallels between Lennox and Levi Tysinger's show victories were impossible to ignore. Both won in their fourth year of 4-H with 248-pound barrows named after card games. Levi's pig was named Spade because he had a spade on him. Like I said, hers was named Uno, which are both card games. Our fair flooded the day of his show. Um, and our and our August 17th, 2021. Yeah, there it was five years and one day difference from when he won to she won. But this story begins with tragedy. On March 2nd, 2023, 13-year-old Levi died in a side-by-side accident on the family's property. For years, he had been his father Aaron's eyes in the barn. Aaron's vision had deteriorated from retinitis pigmentosa. After Levi's death, mom Amber talked about how Lennox learned from her brother. Proven a big brother, hey, what you taught me and what you showed and what I've worked on the last so many, you know, almost four years that you've been gone. I I I think I got it. After the judge announced her as Grand Champion, Lennox went on to break Levi's county sale record, hammering down at $30 per pound. I also knew like when I was like going into the show ring that I had like a good chance at it. Shocking and then like, like I realized that like how much like what I like into the accomplishment. Yeah, like what I did like it finally like paid off. The barn has become a place of healing. Lennox often visits the walk-in door where she and Levi pressed their handprints into wet concrete years ago. Like I'm out there and like I feel like what was it called? Like missing him like the most, I guess, is like I just like go over there and like I put my hand in my hand and I see how much like it's like grown and then I think to myself like my hand's grown and then like I've grown like with it, I guess. The Tysinger family lives by these four rules: Be Thankful, Be Helpful, Include Everyone, and Just Keep Driving. No matter how far you think you're down and out, you're never down and out. Be helpful to the ones that help you. And they said just just be friendly to everybody, you know. If people's willing to help you, treat them the same way. Two Grand Champion banners now hang side by side in the Tysinger home. Proof that there's no quit in Tysinger. For AgDay, I'm Jennifer Schike.",
