"summary": "The video highlights a significant trend of record-breaking auction prices for classic John Deere tractors from the 1970s and 1980s, as well as some newer pre-DEF models. Machinery Pete explains that the age of these units is not deterring buyers, with several models fetching prices well above previous records. This indicates strong demand and appreciation for well-maintained older farm machinery in the current market.",

"transcript": "Tractors from the 70s and 80s have hit the auction block recently and prices for those units are now reaching record highs. Machinery Pete explains why age isn't curbing buying. Wow. Folks, we need to talk about some of the auction prices I've been seeing recently on classic John Deere tractors back from the 70s and the 80s, popular models up to the later model pre-DEF units. Auction prices just going crazy. Now let's start off numerically with the John Deere 4430. So here's a picture of a 77 model with 3637 hours, one owner. This sold on a September 26th farm auction in Fontanelle, Iowa by Rice Auction Company. Went for $45,500, all-time record high auction price on a 4430. Now if we talk John Deere 4440, of course, you might remember the two highest ones ever sold at auction were two days apart back in late August. So here's the record setter, August 29th, Adair, Illinois sale by Kyle Kelso Auctioneer. Kind of a barn find deal, this 1980 4440 with 1071 hours went for $155,000. I think that was $70,000 over the previous record high auction price. And then two days later, August 31st, in Orleans, Indiana, Becker Auctions had a farm sale where they sold this 82 model with 2837 hours for $91,300, second highest auction price ever. Now, the the highest horse there, you know, the the 4840, a classic warhorse, 200 horsepower. All-time record was set August 15th on a farm auction in Fairgrove, Michigan by Osentoski Auction Service. Another kind of barn find deal, this 4840 with only 884 hours on it. But folks, it went for $86,000. That was almost $15,000 over the previous record. Now if we bump up to the 50 series, I just saw this John Deere 4450. Uh, this was a 83 model, mechanical front with 3644 hours on it. Sold on a farm auction September 18th in Massillon, Ohio by Kaufman Realty and Auction. Went for $83,000, second highest auction price ever on a 4450. Now if we bump up right up, getting close to that pre-DEF range, this John Deere 7430 Premium with a loader, an 09 model, 1136 hours, one owner. This also sold on that sale in Fontanelle, Iowa back on September 26th. $185,500, way above the previous record high auction price on a 7430 Premium. And just last Saturday, folks, October 3rd, I covered a consignment auction in Southington, Ohio by Chalker's Auction and Equipment, where this 2011 John Deere 6430 Premium, no loader, only 413 hours, went for $90,000. That's only $1,000 off the all-time record high auction price on a 6430 Premium, sold without a loader.",
