"summary": "The video identifies a common trading mistake: turning a short-term trade into a long-term investment by failing to honor stop-loss or invalidation levels. The speaker explains that traders often delay cutting losses, average into losing positions, and hope for a market reversal, which ultimately increases their risk. This behavior is presented as a critical error in trading discipline.",

"transcript": "Here's an important thing. And this is, I think, and I've made it big and grey because I think this is the most important reason why people get into trouble. Don't turn a short-term trade into a long-term investment. So the first thing people do, trade goes against them, they start, first thing they say, okay, 'I'm long on the Nasdaq at 30100, and my stop loss or my hedge level is at 29,900. I'm still bullish.' It's gone through their invalidation level, line in the sand, when they know they're wrong, below 30,000, when they know they're wrong. What they mean is, price has gone through their stop loss level, where they should have got out, and all they've done is delayed the loss and hoped for the best by averaging in, adding to a losing trade, increasing risk, and hoping that they were wrong about the invalidation level, and that their analysis was wrong, and that actually the price is gonna bounce from below the invalidation level and go back up through it. "description": "The most crucial principle: Don't convert a short-term trade into a long-term investment. \n\nWhen a trade moves against you past your invalidation level, resist the urge to average in. \n\nAdding to a losing trade increases risk and delays inevitable losses.
