"summary": "The speaker highlights September 18, 2026, as a historic options expiration day, contributing to a week of illogical market behavior following central bank rate decisions. He anticipates a \"trap day\" where the market will reset, creating opportunities. The focus is on crude oil, which refuses to go lower, and airlines, particularly Southwest Airlines, which are seen as undervalued and poised for upside after shallow pullbacks.",

"transcript": "Good morning, guys. Friday morning, The Daily Edge. What is today? Today is one of the most historic days in the US stock exchange. There are so many options that are going to expire. And what does that mean? There's all different reasons. People have options on to hedge, to enhance, to put a direction on. All goes away. And do they reload on Monday? Do they come in next week? Do they let them just let them go? What it does is it makes the market choppy. The market all week has not made sense. The Fed came out, they raised rates. What happened to the bond market? It went higher. Last night, Japan, they raised rates. What happened to the Yen that they're trying to protect? It went lower. So nothing is making sense. So why should today make sense? So today is when you get caught in traps. Today is the trap day. The market will set itself up. Something that we've been pushing all week, we waited for the traps to get set. We waited for the positions to go our way. We talked about it early in the week. We made a night a night video that we never do. It's about precious metals. So they set up. So what do we do? This is when The Daily Edge really stands out. Why? Because I watched what happened last night. I watched Asia after they raised rates. I watched how Europe reacts. And now I'm going to watch how the morning is setting up. Oil is the focus. So let's focus on oil and let's see the opportunities they create if they follow through today. Today is important. Take a look at the price of oil. Just refuses to go lower. Pulls back, pulls back, pulls back. So you can't pay attention to these fly-by-night moves. They're really going to screw up your thinking. But what we do put on is we've had on airlines because we think they are too cheap and the sensitive side is the upside. They're starting to kick in. And this is what I've been watching. Southwest Airlines, that looks like it's ready to go. What we're looking for today is we're looking for these shallow pullbacks. This is what I watched last night. You get a shallow pullback in airlines, in precious metals, and they turn at the end of the day and go higher, then we think next week, you got room on the upside. All of these setups. That's The Daily Edge.",
"description": "A Historic Options Expiration Could Create Some Serious Traps\n\nToday brings the largest options expiration in history—and with that much positioning coming off the books, the markets may have a hard time figuring out what comes next. Were those options hedges? Directional bets? And what happens when they expire? With so much positioning changing at once, nothing is as straightforward as it looks, creating plenty of potential traps. Today’s Daily Edge also focuses on crude oil and the ripple effects across precious metals and airlines like JBLU and LUV.\n\n#TheDailyEdge #DailyEdge #OptionsExpiration #CrudeOil #Gold #Silver #PreciousMetals #JBLU #LUV #Commodities #Trading #Markets",
