"transcript": "Good morning, natural gas. It's Thursday, August the 27th, 2026. I'm Tim Beggens, President of Elk Trading Company. And for the spot September natural gas contract, we're up. We're currently trading at 2.9230, up three, excuse me, 8.1 cents here, or 2.85%. The RSI has turned to the upside. We are clear now over the 48-period exponential moving average. And today is storage day. Expectations +22 BCF. That compares to last year's +17 and the five-year average of +33. So, it would be considered a neutral report at +22 BCF. So, what's going on? The weather forecasts have turned much warmer, including populated centers here in the United States. So, that's important news. Plus, LNG is kicking in. It's important to see, but it's unbelievable that we're kicking up again in LNG. And let's take a look at the hourly chart. Well, the RSI is turning to the upside here. We're well above the daily pivot, which came in at 2.8460. Right now, we've cleared first resistance at 2.907, and we're making a move toward 2.9720. We'll see if we've got enough momentum following the storage report. Let's take a look at the grid. And here is ERCOT, expected today to be over 88,000 megawatts. And again, the same story. Renewables 35,000 megawatts, a little bit better than yesterday, but wind continues to be very, very low. Why? Because we're just hot here in Houston. And let's take a look at that. We're looking at natural gas is picking up 51% of the fuel mix this morning here in ERCOT, over 33,000 megawatts. That's more than solar. And of course, you can see wind, only 4,400 megawatts. So, that is going to be the story again today and all throughout the week. We'll see if wind can actually kick in a little bit. We've got some rain coming, so that might mean a little bit more wind generation in the days ahead. Let's turn to the national grid. And yesterday, there was some volatility in PJM, and there is again this morning. It got over $900 there yesterday. And as you can see, right now, we've got some movement again this morning in PJM. ERCOT here is expected to be 107 again. That's because of natural gas. And look at the volatility already in SPP, over $200 there in SPP. MISO also doing a bit of a jump this morning here, 133. So, volatility across the electric grid this morning, mainly SPP, PJM, and MISO. Let's take a look at the front-to-back spreads. And this is Jan versus the October spread. This is the injection spread. And we had marked yesterday that one gap below the market at 1.0460. We've closed that now. Our next gap is 92.7 cents. And as you can see, right now, the RSI is in very oversold condition. So, let's see what happens here, but that is our last remaining gap from this big move we had up starting back in January, all the way through late March. So, that's the last remaining gap below the market. And let's turn to the weather. And here is the heat index risk here. And let's look at it. You will see it gets more and more populated in the major and extreme heat risk here. There it is, building up in the mid-section of the country. Still, it's got everything from Los Angeles to Texas and parts of Florida. Then there's Sunday, really starting to be more major heat risk, pushing back into Dallas and St. Louis. This expands all the way up to Chicago. Now, the extreme heat risk in Oklahoma and Texas and parts of South Texas. And then on Tuesday, we've got even more extreme heat risk. This is picking up St. Louis now. And then as we go into Wednesday, September the 2nd, 14.6 million people under extreme heat risk, over 84 million people in major heat risk. So, this is bullish news on the weather front. Let's turn to the models here. We do see some more warm temperatures coming through here. This is September the 3rd. And as you can see, we continue to push some triple digits up into the Upper Midwest here, close to St. Louis and parts of the South here. But as you can see, going forward, right there at the end, we start losing some of that heat. That heat is really confined to the coast and in Texas. And that is going to be the case as we get into the 10th here, and possibly into the 11th. There's the 10th right now. The last of the triple digits on September the 10th, right in Texas. Texas, Dallas 102, uh, looks like uh, San Antonio 101, and uh, Austin at 101. So, that's it, possibly for the heat all the way back into September the 11th. It'll be in Texas. And here's the 6-10 day temperature outlook. That above normal temperature starts to shift out of Texas and pushes into Tennessee and St. Louis area and lower Illinois. Let's look at the 8-14 day temperature outlook. And there's that above normal temperatures are confined to Texas and Florida. As you can see, the Pacific Northwest starting to cool down. But there's warmer temperatures now back in Chicago, back up into New York and Boston. And here is the national balancing point. And because there has been somewhat of a relief in crude oil prices because Oman and Iran are talking, you're starting to see prices come off in the last two days here for the LNG pricing across the globe. But as you can see right now, we're still well elevated here for the Jan contract. Why? Because we've got some weather still cooling, uh, temperatures in Spain right now, but warmer temperatures are expected to be back into France and Germany by the 5th here. We'll move it up to the 5th here. There's the 4th. There is the 5th. There is extreme heat there again in Spain, parts of lower France, back into Germany, Austria, and all the way back into Poland and Ukraine. So, there's that possibility yet again that we have another heatwave. The 6th heatwave for Spain, or France, excuse me. Here is the EU. We're running at 63 and a half percent full. That seems to be okay, but let's look at individual countries here. There's Belgium, finally getting the message. You got to kick up the injections, and they have been for the last two weeks. Let's take a look at places like France. Nope. Not so much. They're injecting more, but they're still crawling along that low period here. Same thing for Germany. Still new lows here for Germany. And here's Great Britain. Big problem. Only 30.8% full. Last year 45.4% full. And let's lastly look at the Netherlands here. Again, crawling along that low. And as you can see, even with the injections being very strong, they're sitting almost, they're right now 18% below, uh, last year. So, that's not good news for across the EU. Still, it looks like they're possibly getting to about 75% full for November the 1st. And let's look at Asia. And as you can see, there is still some warmer temperatures in Eastern provinces of China and parts of India, of course. Uh, New Delhi still remains below Houston temperatures for this week. That's good news for them. But as you can see, we are just basically seasonal for Asia right now. Warm temperatures are confined to the Eastern provinces of China, parts of Japan, and the Koreas as we go out. But it looks like there's some cooler weather about to start to descend around the 10th of September. How about the uh, LNG? Well, there's nothing loading at Ras Laffan. This is an oil product tanker here. There are no LNG tankers loading up here. These are the 10 loading spots for the LNG, and nothing is there at this time. How about the US? Well, steady as she goes. Cameron, love to see it. It's almost 1.5, almost at 1.56. Here is Freeport. Yesterday popping up to 1.6 in one of their cycles here. That's good news there. On average, though, still sitting around 1.2. Here is Creole Trail, one of the pipelines that feeds Sabine Pass, and that's pretty steady as she goes right now. 1.37 out of 1.7. And this is the good news. Corpus Christi, back almost online completely here. Only 35,000 of open capacity. So, that is running hot right now. That's good news there. And here is some more good news. It's Venture Global, still steady as she goes. And there's Plaquemines, almost at nameplate capacity. Lastly, Golden Pass, 570,000 MMBtu's. Good news there. Steady as she goes. Let's see if we can continue to ramp up as cooler temperatures arrive. And here is our tropics. There is our one storm out there. Right now, 90% chance of formation in the next seven days. That's the only thing out there at this time. Let's take a look. There she is on the satellite. And as you can see, these fingers coming off here, uh, that is indication of strengthening of this particular storm. She is a nice counter-clockwise motion, still holding on to some very high thunderstorms. But again, as you start to see these fingers come off of the storm itself, that indicates that it is wrapping up and tightening. So, let's take a look at the path here. And it is actually flattened out. It is aiming for Puerto Rico here and then Dominican Republic, and then pushing on possibly toward the East Coast of the United States, maybe even Florida. And if it is named here, if it does become a hurricane, what will it be called? Well, Dolly. Can you believe it? It's going to be called Dolly. That's amazing. Couldn't even write that in a movie. And here's the water temperatures. Because it is very, very hot again here, North of Dominican Republic, 83 degrees. Same thing for Puerto Rico. Then in the Bahamas, 85 degrees, 86 across the coast of Florida. So, very warm temperatures to push in. And here is the Gulf right now. There isn't anything developing here in the Gulf of America, Mexico. There are storm systems coming off Louisiana. And there it is. There's the bigger picture. There is 96L, possibly coming up to being Hurricane Dolly if she continues to strengthen here. There are some more systems trying to come off the coast of Africa right now. But as you can see, there is nothing else on the grid. And let's take a look at the longer-term view. Nope. Nothing out there in the Mid-Atlantic. And here is one last thing for you. This is Louisiana. This is Pecan Island. Because yesterday, it was announced that Starlink, excuse me, Starship Port, the spaceport is going to be developed right here in South Louisiana. This is just south of Pecan Island. This appears to be the main acreage here. This is about 125 to 130,000 acres right here. This would be the location of that launch facility. And there is some good news there because right north of that facility is Connecticut Energy. They're bringing on gas from offshore. So, there is a source of natural gas right in the area. And let's take a look at our stocks here. Stocks between two and 10 billion dollars. How about high short float? Over 10%. And it's a sea of red, unfortunately. So, not good news there. But let's take a look at the spot September contract. Kicking in again. It is trading 2.9370, up 9.5 cents or 3.34%. Looks like the shorts are getting squeezed. And today is storage day. Expectations +22 BCF. Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below. Please hit that like and subscribe button. Thanks for listening. We'll see you tomorrow.",
